In Tuesday's NA3HL player draft, the Louisiana Drillers made draft picks and trades that will help build the team for contention in the South Division for the 2015-2016 Season! The Drillers had the 1st overall pick and selected Defenseman, Brycon Johnson, from the St. Louis Selects 18U team. "I have heard great things about Brycon on what he brings to the team on and off the ice from his Selects coach JP Beilsten" said Coach Kaminski. The Drillers were not done after the first pick, selecting Frankie Trazerra, a Forward from the Texas Jr. Brahmas in the second round and then trading the 3rd and 8th Round picks to the Texas Jr. Brahmas for the rights to Forward Austin Davis, Defenseman Thomas Puetz and Goaltender Joe Hacker. In the 4th Round, the Drillers selected Canadian Jack Vautour who has Coach Kaminski excited about bringing him to Cajun Country! Finally, the Drillers selected a Goaltender, Timothy Huxen from the Anaheim Jr. Ducks 16U team. "Alex Kim, his coach in Anaheim played for me in the ECHL and said that Huxen is the real deal" stated Kaminski. Overall, the Drillers are very excited about all of the players drafted and look forward to hitting the ice in September.
